[07/28/10] A Note From Steve
Hello and happy summer!
Good news for all of us!
BP appears to have finally been successful in capping their outrageous leak
in the
Gulf! By the way, this also means that THE OIL SONG hasn't required an
update in
well over a week! Long may it last.

[07/28/10] "And It's Oil!" Yet another update...

Now that eleven men's lives have been lost
The price is as high as rig workers can pay---
Payin' the price for the US of A.
A deepwater rig called Horizon went down,
No way to seal off its pipe could be found---
Eighty-five days was the span of its leak!
Eighty five days, that'd be twelve greasy weeks!
One fifty million plus gallons they say,
Panama City toward Galveston Bay.
What's all destroyed might be hard for to guess---
Livelihood, wildlife, the gulf is a mess
Creepin' in the sea;
Oil, oil,
Don't buy it at the station ,
You can get it now for free,
Just come on down to the shoreline
Where the water used to be.
Look for these new lyrics to appear in
upcoming live performances of
"The Oil Song".

[05/13/10] The Oil Song 2010
We updated everyone a few weeks ago that world events had, yet again,
forced the creation of a new verse to "The Oil Song".
Steve headed into the studio early in May and the result was a brand new
recording of "The Oil Song". This version incorporates all of the
verses ever
written for the song -- some rarely performed. Oh, and it clocks in at
over
13 minutes!

[06/06/10] The Bang Masters Contest
Update:
Our 20th entry is now in the gallery...
During the last ten years I been amazed in my travels by the seemingly never
ending assortment of CD versions of what was originally an LP called Van
Morrison BLOWIN' YOUR MIND!
You know what? This actually does blow my mind!
For a while I thought I'd collect them all----just for a lark. But after a
few months
I began to realize that even at the budget
price they invariably sell for, such
a quest could leave me with little to spend on other releases of real
interest!
I gave up.
But no, wait! I'm back on it and I'm inviting you to join the mania and take
part in
THE BANG MASTERS TOURNAMENT.

[05/18/10] Thanks to Edd Uluschak
Last week I contacted cartoonist Edd
Uluschak requesting permission to post
his 1970's "ball and chain" cartoon along with the new 13 minute version of
THE OIL SONG.
Anyone who happens to own the 1994 solo live CD "Be Here Now" may
remember it being part of that package.
Edd said "yes" and even offered to create a new color version for us.
Here it is!
We are pleased to put it up and sorry to have lots of good reason to do so.
Anyway, a special thanks to Edd Uluschak.

It seems to me that Forbert should rank not that far behind the likes of, say,
